Projects
In Hebrew, Elkanah means “created by God”. We believe God created Elkanah as a place set apart, a place where He changes lives. Here at Camp Elkanah, we feel blessed to serve and be a part of the story He is writing. Over the years, donors have been a major part of the continuation of that story through their generosity and willingness to support these projects.
If you feel God asking you to become part of the Camp Elkanah story through a donation, feel free to use the button below or contact us. Thank you for your desire to be part of the camp legacy through these projects.
OSU Outdoor School Grant
Accessibility and Inclusion Site Improvement Grant
With this amazing opportunity, we are constructing two bathrooms and shower houses closer to each area of camper cabins and make our main pathways more accessible for all.
Welcome Center
Museum and Offices
To make a place to build the new upriver bathroom we moved the train car that was previously the craft cabin. In its new location by the bridge, the train car provides a comfortable place for our onsite staff to work. This train car also provides a warm camp welcome for our guests to check into their camp experience and learn about our history.
New Trailhead Board
Thanks, Sam and Troop 511!!
This is a great addition to the center of Camp and a great place for us to post our map and important info from Smokey and others.
Your original design reminds us of the craftsman that built camp many years ago!
Climbing Tower
Amazing high ropes element
Originally a partnership between Elkanah and a local contractor, the climbing tower is 50 feet tall with 40 feet of climbing surface. Currently, we have to complete sides, the original side is a flat vertical surface with many routes of varying difficulty. The second complete side has an angle halfway up leading to more difficult routes for more advanced climbers.
Shalem
Funded through generous donors & grants
Created as a retreat for pastors and missionaries. It now serves as a home for our on site staff as we continue to seek ways to provide housing for our on site staff.
